Method of temperature measurement:
When the probe cover is on and the LCD displays a �smiley face� it is in the forehead test mode. When the probe cover is removed and the LCD displays an �ear� it is in the ear test mode.

1. Method of forehead temperature measurement:
When powered on, place the device on the temple. While keeping the �Power/Scan� button pressed and the probe cover in contact with the skin, move it across the forehead from one temple to the other for 2-3 seconds. When the button is released and the device emits a �beep� the measurement is complete.
2. Method of ear temperature measurement:
When powered on, Place the probe in ear where you feel comfortable. Press the �Power/Scan� button once. When the device emits a �beep� the measurement is complete.
